This is a piece about long distance.
About how even though your loved one is there on screen, or on the phone, or on any form of communication, they can still feel distant. As if everything you’ve ever loved about each other when you’re together some how happens to disappear.
This is about the The Art of Missing You.
My first assignment for my Print, Paper, Book class! We had to make a one layer relief print on linoleum. The subject matter was open-ended, so of course, I did a subtle-ish tribute to one of my favorite musical artist~
I don’t know if the scan or photos do it justice, but it’s printed in gold ink! I’m hoping to have a few more of these to sell in the art sale in November. :>
adventures in relief printing!
a quick doodle to remind everyone that I am alive and that I am a big dumb baby about starting school
Alright, so I’m back in school, which means there will definitely be some new stuff within the next couple weeks! I’ve been forced out of my summer mode and being kicked into high gear again.
I used to hate green tea flavored things but for some reason I spontaneously started to like it and have been craving it all summer. Green tea IS good for you, but maybe not in the forms I’ve been eating it in…also it seems that I have a taste towards bright green colored foods.
Phew! So here it is, my final piece for Light Grey Art Lab’s Station Zero show! The theme is science fiction: revisited, and each illustrator was given a vintage science fiction novel in order to redraw and reinterpret the cover. The cover I received was PACKED with imagery, almost to the point where I couldn’t process most of it, so I went with something a little simpler and more inspired by this version of the cover instead. I hope that’s not cheating…*sweats nervously*
But seriously you guys, check out the rest of the pieces on Light Grey’s website. Every single one looks PHENOMENAL. I’m blown away and so honored to be a part of it! And even better, if you’re in the Minneapolis area, the show opens on July 19th, so you can see every poster in it’s full 18”x 24” glory, plus some other cool activities!
Sorry for the lack of updates guys! I’ve been super
lazy busy this summer, but I’m super stoked to announce that I’m going to be a part of Light Grey Art Lab’s Station Zero gallery show. Here’s a quick preview of my piece!
